Teasing Personal Incomes Data

One of my favourite series from ABS has been released. Personal Incomes are derived by ABS from ATO data. So the latest data is only to 2018. This is percentage growth in people reporting employee income to ATO for the year from 2012FY to 2018FY:

Reasons I like this data include that it has better represented employment trends at regional level than the ABS Labour Force series. Hopefully the current Covid Payrolls series from ABS will be extended and improved to provide more timely access to data from this source.

There is much more in this data to look at including down to SA2 level but will just have to post a teaser for now and move on.
