Australian Financial Security Authority post quarterly SA3 regional statistics on personal insolvency. This is new insolvencies registered during the quarter:

Small numbers can make this data patchy in less populous regions so I have stuck to the two Cairns urban area SA3. This pretty much follows the Queensland trend which had been declining since 2018 pre-covid.

Nationally, personal insolvency was down 50.9% on the September 2019 quarter with all states within +/- 5% of this except Tasmania which was down 61.9%.

I’m not too familiar with this data series but will keep a watch as JobKeeper and JobSeeker support is withdrawn.
