Airport recovery stalls in August
The July recovery in passengers at Cairns Airport stalled in August:


Normally, the August number would be below the July peak but things are obviously not normal. We were probably hopeful of something better given the previous commentary from Qantas indicating good numbers and growth on the BNE-CNS route: Intra-State Airport Recovery
The net surplus of arrivals over departures in July also reversed in August. This again would be a normal seasonal pattern although proportional to total passenger traffic the swings here are quite high.
